My Random Thoughts

August Reading List

So it August which means it’s my birthday this month and also my blogs first birthday 9 days later. On top of my reading list, I’d just like to say how nice it would be to gain some more blog followers as a little birthday present.

Ok now for the reason why you’re all here my reading list.

So for this month, I’ve got a book to read which has been sent to me and signed by the author and it really seems like an interesting read and I’m looking forward to starting it. It’s The Gathering: Book One of The Uprising Series.

Shatter me

I’ve been tempted by this book for ages purely by its cover alone. It’s so striking.

Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1)

The Mermaid

The Mermaid

I’ve read Alice and Red Queen by Christina Henry and although they were a little darker than I expected I didn’t dislike them. I love the idea of Barnum search for  mermaid as well and I can’t wait to read this. unfortunately the husband has hid it so that he can give me it for my birthday.

Shadow and Bone

Shadow and Bone (Grisha Verse, #1)

Yeah, I’m still on with this but I’m anticipating this month to be less busier than July so hopefully I’ll have time to finish this.

So what I’ve basically left myself with is a book a week with a little room left over just in case. I mean there is always the spur of the moment buy and (hopefully) birthday presents that I’ll need to take into account. I have given my husband a list after all.

  1. Happy (nearly) blog birthday! Shatter Me definitely draws you in with the cover. It’s one that I do intend to pick up at some point (so very behind right now…) Looking forward to reading your reviews 🙂

  2. Hahahha I LOVE that your husband hid the book from you for your birthday! That is too sweet and also kind of torture too for a bookworm… Happy reading Laura. The Mermaid sounds like fun! And I’ve tried Shadow and Bone multiple times and its a little slow but I understand the Darkling is so worth the read. ❤

    1. I finally finished Shadow and Bone this morning and I couldn’t agree more about the Darkling 🙂. My husband is certainly torturing me with hiding it 🙂

    1. I’ve wanted this book for ages and I finally found it and I couldn’t resist. As soon as I’ve read it I’ll get a post up 🙂
