Post on whatever day suits you, about characters from whatever media you love (books, movies, K-dramas, television, manga, anime, webtoons, whatever!) and link up on Thursday so YOU and others can blog hop and share the character love. ♡This weeks topic is:
July 12th – Anti-Establishment Group of Badasses (a group of 3 or more characters that belong together as they fight the good fight).
My first time going into the world of Anime with this but the first group of people to come to mind were these guys
Spike, Faye, Jet, Ed and Ein from Cowboy Bebop. I haven’t watched this show in sooo long but like I said it was honestly the first thing that came to mind followed by the crew of the Rampion.
I think the reason why these were first was because of the word basasses. Lets face it we have Spike Spiegel:
He is main character. He is a bounty hunter or “cowboy” on a spaceship called the Bebop. As a main character he is super lazy. When he is not out chasing his bounty he is usually found lounging on the sofa and when he isn’t he practicing his martial arts. He says he hates three things, dogs, children, and women with attitudes. Which just happens to be three out the the four of the next people show in the gifs on here. To me, although he may be the main protragonist he’s very much the antihero
Faye is rather an iteresting character to me. Being cryogenically frozen for 54 years after an incident that killed her parents and causing her amnesia has given Faye a different personalilty from what she was. Faye grew up with rich parents and was a cheerleader but alas things weren’t meant to be. When her parents died in an accident Faye was injured and was frozen until a cure was found. When Faye woke up she was told she was in massive amounts of debt and was basically conned into taking on more debt after she fell in love with the so called “lawyer.”
So rather than paying off her debts, Faye chose a life on the run, conducting small scams and stealing goods. Due to this she then received a bounty on her head of 6,000,000 woolongs which is what eventually lead her to becoming a member of the Bebop.
Jet I believe is the captain of the Bebop is is a former member of the ISSP. He was a bounty hunter on his own for a while and gained a good reputation. He eventually met Spike and they became partners. As the eldest member of the Bebop he is seen as the father figure by the other crew members, probably doesnt help that he’s also the cook. As much has he hates being portrayed as this he does see the other crew members as his family and has no problem with scolding them if they have done something wrong e.g. not collecting the whole bounty due to damages cause by Spike.
Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV (Ed):
Ed is my favourite character by far. Ed’s father was forgetful with anything but his work, and because of this he left her at a day care center in 2064 and forgot to pick her up. She was eventually taken under the care of a nun (I think) and met a boy named tomato who was great with computers. Ed became a hacker and had learned about the bebop and tracked it’s movements. Once the Bebop came to earth she hacked it’s computers. As she discuvered that the bounty they were searching wasn’t a living thing she said she would help them if they made her part of the crew. So she helped out but they tried to get away without her so she hacked their computer again and eventually made is as part of the team.
Ed is an eccentric, resourceful, giggly, child-like, odd, tomboyish, curious, happy-go-lucky and extremely intelligent teenage girl who is often mistaken for a boy because of her appearence. She never ever wears anything on her feet and uses goggles to help her connect to the internet.
This group of rag tag people shouldn’t work well together but they do and they get the job done even if they don’t always get full pay.
