What it’s about
They all made a terrible mistake. One they will pay for.
For the past ten years, I’ve been a victim. A victim to my pack. A victim to my true mate, who rejected me in the most brutal of ways. And a victim to Shadow Beast, who used me for his own gains.
Or did he?
The beast of mystery never reveals his whole hand, but one thing is for sure… in my time with him, I’ve changed. Now I will no longer walk the path dictated by the powerful men in my life. Never again will I let my strength be taken from me.
I must evolve or die.
And we all know, with a choice like that, there’s really only one answer.
What I Thought
I definitely didn’t feel ok after that ending and with a wait, until March I think I might have a little bit of time to get over it.
Jaymin Eve has done it again and given me another series to fall completely in love with. In Rejected we’re left on a semi cliffhanger where Mera’s “true mate” has brought her back to the town she was born and raised in. They have a meeting where Mera hasn’t been invited but has crashed anyway and has joined the party while on fire.
So joining at that particular instance set the entire pace for the book. This has a lot more action in than the Rejected in more ways than one and I am now a complete sucker for The Shadow Beast and I understand Mera’s actions and reactions towards him.
Once again the writing in this flows beautifully and I love how different from other worlds the Shadow Lands are. Mera has to be one of my favourite characters of Jaymin Eve’s as I see a strong woman who has had to rely on herself far too often and has trust issues but she still gets up every day and makes the best of it and I think a few people could learn from her. Shadow Beast is:
I really don’t think there is a word for it but I could almost definitely see myself swooning in his presence, all 7′-100′ of him.
Now, due to that ending, I am grateful that I only have to wait until March as other authors usually make you wait a year for the finale of a book. However, I do feel I will be counting down the days until reborn is released.
