WWW Wednesday

WWW Wednesday: 11th April

Good day geeks! 🤓 It’s Wednesday, and I’ve decided to do WWW Wednesday again. Woohoo two weeks in a row.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly tag hosted by Taking on a World of Words. To participate, you just answer the following questions:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

1. What are you currently reading?

Image result for a magical tale with geek appealYep i’m still trying to make my way through A Magical Tale with Geek Appeal the ARC I requested. I’ve from being a couple of pages last week to now six chapters in. I’m hoping it gets going soon it’s seems like a slow burner.

At the present moment in time I feel like it’s not really been centred towards geeks. We’re not always as lonely and desperate like the media depict us to be. My current thoughts is that the title is incredibly misleading especially since so far it’s about internet dating which i’ve never had to do so that might be where the problem lies for me.

2. What did you recently finish reading?

The Sun Is Also a StarI finished reading The Sun is Also a Star. It was ok. I think I say ok becuase of my sceptism. I do not believe in love at first sight like Natasha but i think it’ll take more then questions and staring into each others eyes to convince me.

Don’t get me wrong the premise was good and the fact that the book was centred around a single day I liked. I’m not sure that many authors could pull that off the way Nicola Yoon did.

I’ll have the book review ready to view on Saturday.

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) I did it, I gave in, I caved. I couldn’t help myself. I had to see what else Sarah J Maas had to offer.

Can I just say that I love Celaena?

She’s smart, sassy, headstrong. Damn she knows what she wants and could she get what she wants? Hell yeah she could. She doeesn’t take shit from anyone. A girl after my own heart.

It’s great that she’s not the damsel in distress. It’s nice to be shown that maybe just maybe it’s not always women that need saving. Some of us can take damn good care of ourselves.

3. What will you read next?

This week it’s super easy to say what I’ll be reading next.

Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2)

This is a must I need to know what happens next even though somewhere a sane part of me is telling me “Laura you have to wait until October to actually get to the end of the series” and to that Laura, I say “shut up I’ll do what I please. 😁”

That’s it! There you have it.

What have you been reading recently? Which one of the five books should I read next? Let me know in the comments below!

Follow me on Goodreads, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. You can also email Laura@bookandgeekiness.co.uk

  1. Haha, awesome that you’re discovering Throne of Glass! Queen of Shadows is my favorite by far – although maybe Tower of Dawn will change that once I get to pick it up? – so I hope you enjoy all of them! 😀

    1. I’m really enjoying what I’ve read so far. I started Crown of Midnight this morning and so far so good 🙂. Can’t wait to see what happens

    1. I know right. I adore that the female characters that Sarah J Maas writes are strong and independent. Its nice to be reminded that women don’t have to see themselves as damsels in distress.
