It’s Wednesday and so it’s time for another WWW Wednesday. I’ve not done one of these since August last year so long overdue this. So in case, you don’t know what WWW Wednesday is:
WWW Wednesday is a weekly tag hosted by Taking on a World of Words. To participate, you just answer the following questions:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
1. What am I currently reading?
I started this a couple of days ago as it’s been sat on my shelf since it came out as I feel when a new book comes out quite a few book bloggers will jump on the book straight away. I have done this myself recently with Finale but I had been really excited about that one.
Enchantee is about a girl at the start of the French revolution who has been recently orphaned and has to find a way for her and her sickly younger sister to survive. She does this while her older brother gambles and drinks their money into oblivion.
I am currently 100 pages in and I’m surprised by how much French I have remembered since I’ve not used it for roughly 16 years but thankfully there is a translation guide in the back.
Fracture is book #2 in the colour alchemists series. It’s picked up where we’ve left off. I’m currently 64 pages in (I checked) and I honestly can’t remember what has happened in this book. I’m at that point where I don’t know if things so far have happened in book one or book two and I’m now slightly confused by it.
I’ve basically done something I hate and I’ve put it down for too long. Hopefully, if I keep reading it I will be able to figure out what has happened so far and be able to complete the book without anymore confusion or stopping. Unfortunately I have adult things to do like work and run a house but I will get it finished.
2. What did I recently finish reading?
The last book I finished reading was Prism by Nina Walker. This is book one in the Colour Alchemist series.
I really like the idea of this series and I just hope that it doesn’t turn out like the Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. I wouldn’t be surprised if no one has compared these books before. My reasoning is I really enjoyed the first book in the Red Queen series and thought the idea showed good promise, being as it was based around something unseen but uncontrollable (probably not quite explained myself properly there) but they got progressively worse in my opinion to a point where I didn’t even read book four.
I really hope this series isn’t the same. I love the idea of only certain people being able to control this ability with each of the colours having a different ability.
3. What do I think I’ll read next?
I’ve got an ARC to read this week and then I’ve got probably about 4 series I haven’t finished. I’ve got The Priory of the Orange Tree, The Hate you give, On the Come up, A Girl Called Shameless and then there is also several Owlcrate books too.
Hopefully I’ll make up my mind once I’ve completed the books I’m currently reading.
