WWW Wednesday

WWW Wednesday- 4th July

It’s Wednesday and as we as a Happy 4th July to my American followers 🇺🇸 I’m also going to say HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY STEVEN GRANT ROGERS.

I couldn’t resist

I’ve missed doing this during my absence but there was no point as I simply wasn’t reading but that’s all changed now. So in case, you don’t know what WWW Wednesday is:

WWW Wednesday is a weekly tag hosted by Taking on a World of Words. To participate, you just answer the following questions:

    1. What are you currently reading?
    2. What did you recently finish reading?
    3. What do you think you’ll read next?

1. What am I currently reading?

Caraval (Caraval, #1)My current read is Caraval by Stephanie Garber. Now you probably know this already but the first chapter is the letters that the Main Character has sent to the carnival master over the course of several years which I have come across before, but then to go into chapter two with

Scarlet’s feelings came in colours even brighter than usual. The urgent reds of burning coals. The eager green of new grass buds. The frenzied yellow of a flapping bird’s feathers.

He’d finally written back.

and just with that it’s made me want to read more. In fact, I only got 5 hours sleep last night because I couldn’t put it down but I’m unlikely going to be able to pick it up tonight because I’ll be busy wrapping presents.

2. What did I recently finish reading?

A Thousand Perfect NotesA Thousand Perfect Notes by CG Drews (A.K.A The amazing Paperfury).

I loved this book. if I could cry (since I’m known as an emotionless robot) I’m sure I would have done. Becks situation tore at my heartstrings but at least he had Joey and August who had his best interests at heart.

I loved this book so much that I can’t wait for the boy who steals houses.

Read my review here.

3. What do I think I’ll read next?

Legendary (Caraval, #2)I’m really hoping that I will not be disappointed with Legendary like I was with the last series I read. I feel hooked and I need to know what happens.

A heart to protect. A debt to repay. A game to win.

After being swept up in the magical world of Caraval, Donatella Dragna has finally escaped her father and saved her sister Scarlett from a disastrous arranged marriage. The girls should be celebrating, but Tella isn’t yet free. She made a desperate bargain with a mysterious criminal, and what Tella owes him no one has ever been able to deliver: Caraval Master Legend’s true name.

The only chance of uncovering Legend’s identity is to win Caraval, so Tella throws herself into the legendary competition once more—and into the path of the murderous heir to the throne, a doomed love story, and a web of secrets…including her sister’s. Caraval has always demanded bravery, cunning, and sacrifice. But now the game is asking for more. If Tella can’t fulfill her bargain and deliver Legend’s name, she’ll lose everything she cares about—maybe even her life. But if she wins, Legend and Caraval will be destroyed forever.

Welcome, welcome to Caraval…the games have only just begun.

I can’t deny it, this sounds amazing and I’d like to read about Tella since she seems to get herself into a fair bit of trouble.

Shadow and Bone (Grisha Verse, #1)If I hadn’t heard of this series then I must have been living under a rock. I’ve seen this all around the blogosphere and I’ve received it as an ARC so I am hoping to get to this as soon as possible. (typically my kindle has died and I’ve misplaced the charger again. Whoops)

Surrounded by enemies, the once-great nation of Ravka has been torn in two by the Shadow Fold, a swath of near impenetrable darkness crawling with monsters who feast on human flesh. Now its fate may rest on the shoulders of one lonely refugee.

Alina Starkov has never been good at anything. But when her regiment is attacked on the Fold and her best friend is brutally injured, Alina reveals a dormant power that saves his life—a power that could be the key to setting her war-ravaged country free. Wrenched from everything she knows, Alina is whisked away to the royal court to be trained as a member of the Grisha, the magical elite led by the mysterious Darkling.

Yet nothing in this lavish world is what it seems. With darkness looming and an entire kingdom depending on her untamed power, Alina will have to confront the secrets of the Grisha . . . and the secrets of her heart.

Once again this seems right up my street and I can’t wait to get started on these.

  1. I can’t wait to read A Thousand Perfect Notes! I’m glad to see you loved it. 😍 And I hope you enjoy Legendary more than I did. 🙂

    1. I would highly recommend it. I thought it would be the book that broke me but I still can’t cry. I’m really hoping legendary doesnt dissappoint me like Glass Sword did
